This unique expansion and collaboration led to the creation of a joint sales, marketing, and distribution team.

From a very modest start, in 1988, of 6 people we now employ over 150 people across Canada. Over the years we have broadened our relationships with publishers from around the world. Today books from the US to the UK to Australia and places in between, grace our preview program to bring librarians and students alike the very best books the world has to offer.
There are no hosting fees with Big Timber Media
Yes, all Big Timber eBooks are compatible with most operating systems including iPads, Kindles, Tablets, Smart Boards and PCs.
Our platform is compatible with most other platforms. Each platform is set up a bit differently so there isn't a standard answer, however, compatibility can also be based on how a school sets up access.
Follett is a proprietary software where Follett only allows for Follett-purchased eBooks to be placed. It the customer uses Follett Destiny or Quest cataloging, we do not encounter issues with any of our authentication options.
This platform is used most often by Public Libraries - it operates on a single check-out format. There are very few issues regarding compatibility.
Big Timber is completely compatible with MackinVia. Mackin provides Big Timber with a Via referring URL to associate with their BT account.
The administrator of the account can access usage stats by logging into Manage Your Account, scroll to Activity Report and entering the dates to see usage. The report will generate a list of titles and how often each has been opened.
The MARC records do have a live link that users can easily click on to access their eBooks. Whether or not a username and password is required when accessing the eBooks in this manner is dependent upon if the account is set up with any type of authentication ie: IP Address or Referring URL.
Authentication allows the system to recognize the user and they will have access to the eBooks without a username and password.
Destiny Quest is part of Follett Destiny, the cataloging system used by the majority of schools. A search in Destiny Quest pulls information from the same MARC record that is would if you were searching in the regular Destiny catalog and because of that, there should be no compatibility issues.
If the librarian would like that patrons to access the eBooks using OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) then they would need to create username and passwords based on their library card numbers. There is a feature called 'Manage Your Account' in their Big Timber Account where bulk users can be set up by uploading via a CVS (Concurrent Versions System) document.
